Crimson Desert follows Kliff, a mercenary leader and his fellow Greymanes—Oongka, Yann, and Naira in the war-torn continent of Pywel, who seeks vengeance and redemption after his group, the Greymanes, is betrayed and destroyed by the rival Black Bear faction. The story focuses on rebuilding his band, surviving a hostile world filled with mythical creatures, and confronting the Black Bears' leader, Myurdin, while dealing with threats from the "Abyss".

How many bosses in Crimson Desert?
Crimson Desert features multiple distinct, large-scale boss encounters rather than a single set number. Early demos highlighted 4 major, unique bosses—the Staglord, Reed Devil, White Horn, and Queen Stoneback Crab—showcasing varied mechanics and designs. Later, a separate trio of brand-new bosses (Muscan, Walter Lanford, and Kerish the Slayer) was also introduced, indicating a large variety of "big boss" fights in the final game.
