That’s right, we are finally getting a Ghost of Tsushima 2 with the upcoming PS5 game Ghost of Yotei. Set over 300 years after the events of the previous game in 1603, the new title will see a fresh protagonist taking the spotlight.
You play as Atsu ready to explore a brand new region of Japan.
Does it look better than Ghost of Tsushima?
Nattu
It’s impossible to say “Yes” for the moment because we didn’t have the chance to test it yet! But it aims to build upon Tsushima by offering more player freedom, different gameplay styles, and a darker, mercenary protagonist, Atsu, in a new setting 300 years later.
While Yōtei‘s combat, visuals, and improved open-world exploration are anticipated to be strong, its story and characters, and how well they stand out, will be key factors in determining if it surpasses its predecessor.
Freedom
The game is designed to give players more choice in how they play, allowing them to focus on story, combat, or exploration.

Mount Yōtei is a real stratovolcano in Hokkaido, a northern island of Japan.
Reimagined combat and skills
Ghost of Yōtei features a different kind of combat, with new skills and a focus on a mercenary approach over the samurai tradition.
Atsu is the playable protagonist of Ghost of Yōtei, a lone female mercenary and vengeful spirit driven to seek revenge against the Yōtei gang who murdered her family.
She uses the same sword that was used to attack her as an instrument of vengeance and is a completely new character, not related to Jin Sakai.

We are eager to discover this new game. What about you?

My Ps5 pro is ready to welcome Ghost of Yotei tomorrow. I loved playing Ghost of Tsushima and the samurai Jin Sakai. Just a few hours to wait…
For me Ghost of Yotei will be similar to Ghost of Tsushima, focusing on a single protagonist with fluid and brutal combat, AC Shadow has 2 protagonists Naoe and Yasuke, a system of season and stealth mechanics. So at the end, you’ve got 2 games so different Roger.
I’m actually playing Assassin Creed Shadow, it looks very similar so i will wait a long time probably until 2026 to start Ghost of Yotei
